Best Latin American Restaurant in Iowa City

Incredible food, rich coffee, and wonderful service! I had a chorizo burrito, a horchata latte, and one of their guava pastelitos. A great cozy cafe stop for anyone living in or passing through Iowa city!

Absolutely loved the atmosphere of this cafe. This is a great place to take your lunch break. I didn't catch her name, but I absolutely adored the young blonde barista. She was so sweet, recommended the churro latte (So yummy!). She even checked on the progress of my food in the kitchen, with a smile on her face, despite how obviously busy she was. Would definitely recommend the iced churro latte, the apple pastillito, and the Cuban sandwich!

I was thinking about visiting this place for months since I moved from Miami for cafe con leche and a nice Cuban sandwich. And tbh, Mammitas' did not disappoint but exceeded my expectations. I will confess that I had a couple bad cafe con leches and average Cuban sandwiches back in Miami. Such a cozy place in downtown IC, perfect for a quick bite. My husband and I visited for breakfast; we had the chorizo burrito and it's ah-mazing! Super filling and so tasty!! The Dulce de Leche and Horchata Fraps are really good too. The staff is really nice, they smile and greet you so kindly. I recommend you visit this coffee shop whenever you get a chance.

Such a wonderful place. Me and my husband stopped here randomly this morning because we heard it was good. Delicious food, great portions, friendly team. They took the time to explain their menu to anyone in line that had never been at their cafe. Do not skip this place. ALSO the horchata drinks are incredible — smooth, refreshing! Excited to go again.
